Increasing consumption of vegetables and pulses (legumes like lentils and dried beans) are positive health behaviour changes, but have been difficult for many people to adopt. New approaches are needed.

This series of diverse studies was first concerned with vegetable promotion and understanding what vegetables were preferred and associations with participant characterstics.

A series of studies were conducted focused on nudging consumers in post-secondary cafeterias to choose more vegetables and fruits.

Another focus was promotion of pulses. An population-based study sought to understand current consumption among Canadians in 2004 and 2015. A pilot study was conducted to try an new approach to designing interventions using a variety of approaches in combinations.
